Continues the story of a Australian Aboriginal family, but now it is about the Shaman's brother, that we were first introduced to in the first book, Sean. Also as a member of the same community, he must try to find his own way and step out of the shadow of his brother, Ty. Another journey is underway, as Ty's chosen wife, Jenna, is trying to stretch out on her own and realizes, along the way that she has feelings for Sean. But, as a promised wife, to the not only a Shaman, but also the Karadji (the chosen leader) how can she refuse her place. As in the first book, this one is equally about the journey, that two young people must make and the consequences that follow.

'When I thought of my husband, the man promised me by the Elders I felt the familiar shiver of anticipation along the edge of my nerves, or was it fear? He had been very distant these last weeks and that concerned me, as it concerned many of the women in the Community. When the Karadji of the mob became distracted, everyone felt concerned. Taipan was well liked and we had all wondered over the recent darkness in his mood.'

Again, I had the same feelings as with the first one, dense amount of details and it lingered in my mind. I would have to say that this series really is a must for people who are interested in a cultural that is so old, but still trying to retain their roots, in the country. Great job!
